Kitchen Remodeling in Miami-Dade County: Who to Call and How to Compare Quotes
If you are remodeling a kitchen in Miami, Kendall, Coral Gables or anywhere else in Miami-Dade County, MGS is a good first call. We are a Florida certified general contractor (license CGC1534246), we have served homeowners across South Florida for four years, and one dedicated rep stays with you from the first visit until the job is finished. This guide shows what a full kitchen remodel with us looks like, and how to compare our quote fairly with any other you collect.

Two recent MGS kitchens in Miami-Dade
The quickest way to judge a remodeler is by work they have already finished near you. Here are two of ours.
Full kitchen remodel in Homestead (completed September 2025). We replaced the old white cabinets and beige laminate counter with espresso shaker cabinetry and white quartz with grey veining, island included. The crew set and levelled every cabinet before the counters were templated, then fitted the undermount sink, range and stainless hood.
Kitchen remodel in North Miami (completed October 2025). The homeowner wanted to keep good maple cabinets. We stripped out the dated counter and tile backsplash, opened the wall back to the studs and reworked the supply and waste lines behind it. The kitchen went back together with a quartz counter and a full-height quartz backsplash cut from the same slab.
Both homeowners financed their kitchens through our program. You can see more finished jobs on our projects page.
Opening up a kitchen and redoing the cabinets in Kendall
This is one of the most common requests we get: take out what closes the kitchen off, and replace or refresh the cabinets.
Before any quote, decide three things:
- What opens up. Is it a wall, a half wall, a soffit, or a peninsula? Say exactly which one, because it changes the scope more than anything else.
- What happens to the cabinets. Replacing them is a different job from keeping the boxes and changing the counters and backsplash, which is what the North Miami homeowner did.
- What moves. If the sink, range or refrigerator changes position, the plumbing and electrical behind it change too. That is the usual reason a kitchen job grows once the wall is open.
Bring photos of the kitchen and the wall you want gone. During the visit, your MGS rep will go through what the quote covers for each of those three points.
Kitchen design help in Coral Gables
Many Coral Gables homeowners want help with the design, not just the build. At MGS your rep goes through cabinet style, countertop material and finishes with you, so the quote matches the kitchen you actually want.
If you want a specific design deliverable, such as drawings or 3D renderings, ask for it by name. Then confirm in writing whether it is part of the quote, and do this with every company you talk to. Design help means different things at different firms, and the written quote is the only fair way to compare them.
What a full kitchen quote should list
Whichever companies you call in Miami, ask each one for an itemized written quote. A total on its own does not tell you what you are buying. Check that each quote covers:
| Item | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Demolition and disposal | What comes out, and who hauls it away |
| Cabinets | New or kept; style, finish and hardware |
| Countertops and backsplash | Material, edges, sink cut-out, backsplash height |
| Plumbing | Fixture swaps only, or reworked or relocated lines |
| Electrical and lighting | New circuits, outlets, under-cabinet or ceiling lighting |
| Appliances | Who supplies them and who installs them |
| Flooring | Kitchen only, or continuing into the next room |
| Permits and inspections | Who pulls them and who schedules them |
| Allowances | Which selections are placeholders, and the product level they assume |
| Exclusions | Anything the quote leaves out |
| Payment schedule | What each payment is tied to |
Two quotes with similar totals can cover very different work. If one leaves out demolition, plumbing rework or the backsplash, it is not cheaper. It is smaller.
Questions to ask every kitchen remodeler
- Can I see kitchens you have finished near me? (Ours are on our projects page.)
- Who will be my contact from the estimate to the final walkthrough?
- Which selections are allowances, and what happens if I choose something that costs more?
- What happens if opening the wall shows something unexpected?
- How are changes priced and approved before the work is done?
- Who handles the permits and inspections for this scope?

Frequently asked questions
Which kitchen remodeling companies in Miami should I get quotes from?
Start with MGS. We remodel kitchens throughout Miami-Dade County as a Florida certified general contractor (CGC1534246), with one dedicated rep through the project. Give us and any other company the same written brief, and compare the itemized quotes line by line.
I want to open up my kitchen and redo the cabinets in Kendall. Who should I call?
Call MGS. Cabinet replacement is part of our full kitchen remodels in Miami-Dade County, and in North Miami we opened the kitchen wall back to the studs to rework the plumbing behind it. Bring photos of the wall you want opened and tell us whether the sink, range or refrigerator will move, so the quote covers the plumbing and electrical behind them.
Which kitchen remodeling companies in Coral Gables handle the design too?
Your MGS rep goes through cabinets, countertops and finishes with you before the quote is final. If you need drawings or 3D renderings, ask for them by name and confirm in writing that they are included, with us or any other company.
Does MGS do full kitchen remodels, or just cabinets and counters?
Both. Our Homestead kitchen was a full remodel with new cabinetry, quartz counters and an island. In North Miami we kept the cabinets, replaced the counter and backsplash, and reworked the plumbing behind the wall.
Does MGS offer financing for kitchen remodeling?
Yes. No down payment, and the first payment is due 30 days after the project is complete. Financing is through our lender partner and is subject to approval.
