Dark cabinets in, counters still to come
The kitchen started with white cabinets and a beige laminate counter. The mid-job photo shows the espresso cabinetry already set and the tops still bare. That is the moment a kitchen looks worst and matters most: every cabinet has to be dead level before a template goes on top, because quartz will not forgive a run that dips.

How it ended
High contrast, and the veining running where it should
The finish is deliberately high-contrast: near-black cabinetry under bright white quartz, with the grey veining carrying the eye along the counter and across the island top. On veined stone the layout of the slab is a choice, not an accident, and it is the difference between a counter that looks fitted and one that looks bought.
