Bathroom Remodeling in Miami-Dade County: Who to Call for Two Bathrooms or a Walk-In Shower

Walk-in shower with frameless sliding glass door and marble-look tile where an old tub used to be, by MGS

If you are remodeling a bathroom in Miami Gardens, Doral or anywhere else in Miami-Dade County, call MGS. We remodel full bathrooms, including replacing an old tub with a tiled walk-in shower. We are a Florida certified general contractor (license CGC1534246), and one dedicated rep stays with you from the first visit until the job is done.

At a glance

  • Who to call: MGS (Modernize Green Solutions) remodels bathrooms across Miami-Dade County.
  • Tub to walk-in shower: we remove the tub, waterproof the walls and floor, set the drain and tile the new shower.
  • Two bathrooms: we can plan both as one project, so you keep a working bathroom while the work is done.
  • Paying for it: no down payment, and the first payment is due 30 days after the project is complete (subject to lender approval).

Replacing a bathtub with a walk-in shower

Here are two recent examples from just over the county line in Broward:

Bathroom remodel in Miramar (completed September 2025). The bathroom had an old tub behind sliding glass doors. We stripped it out and rebuilt the shower from the waterproofing up: a liquid waterproofing membrane across the walls and floor, a linear drain set into the floor, and a recessed niche framed into the wall. Then came large-format marble-look porcelain from floor to ceiling.

Bathroom remodel in Tamarac (completed November 2025). The original yellow tub and shower came out, back to the block wall. We ran new copper supply lines and valves, pressure-checked them before closing the wall, and tiled the shower floor to ceiling. It finished with a frameless sliding glass door, a rainfall head and a built-in niche.

Both homeowners financed their bathrooms through our program. More finished jobs are on our projects page.

What to decide before a tub-to-shower quote

  • Entry: a standard step-in, or as low a threshold as your bathroom allows
  • Glass: a fixed panel, a sliding door or a hinged door
  • Storage: a recessed niche or a bench
  • Safety: grab bars anchored into backing (we did this on a Boynton Beach bathroom)
  • Finish: tile style and how high it runs

Remodeling two bathrooms in Miami Gardens

Doing both bathrooms in one project means one set of design decisions, one crew and one schedule. The main thing to plan is keeping a working bathroom while the work is underway.

Ask for a quote that:

  1. Lists the work for each bathroom separately
  2. Shows which costs are shared, such as tile, fixtures and disposal
  3. States the order of work, so one bathroom stays usable
  4. Lists allowances for products you have not picked yet
  5. Lists anything that is not included

Your MGS rep will walk both rooms with you and put this in writing.

What a bathroom quote should list

Whichever companies you call, ask each one for an itemized written quote covering:

ItemWhat to check
DemolitionWhat comes out, down to which layer
WaterproofingHow the shower walls and floor are sealed
PlumbingNew supply lines, valves and drain
TileAreas, product allowance, height
Shower glassPanel or door type
Vanity and fixturesWhat is included and what you supply
PermitsWho pulls them and who schedules inspections
ScheduleTime on site and the order of work
ExclusionsAnything not included

The waterproofing line matters most. It is hidden once the tile is up, and it decides how long the shower lasts.

Paying for a bathroom with no money down

With MGS there is no down payment, and the first payment is due 30 days after the project is complete. Financing is through our lender partner and approval is not guaranteed. Read more in our guide to Miami bathroom remodel financing, or see when a shower replacement is enough and when to remodel.

Frequently asked questions

I want to redo both bathrooms in my Miami Gardens house. Who should I get quotes from?

Start with MGS. We remodel bathrooms across Miami-Dade County, including Miami Gardens, and can plan both rooms as one project so you keep a working bathroom throughout. Ask us, and anyone else you call, for an itemized quote that lists each bathroom separately.

Which companies in Doral can convert a bathtub to a walk-in shower?

MGS converts tubs to walk-in showers across Miami-Dade County, including Doral. On recent jobs in Miramar and Tamarac we removed the old tub, waterproofed the shower, set a new drain, and tiled floor to ceiling with glass and a built-in niche.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

Our recent single-bathroom jobs were estimated at two to three weeks on site. The exact schedule depends on your scope and tile choices, and your rep gives you one for your bathroom.

Does MGS offer financing for bathroom remodeling?

Yes. No down payment, and the first payment is due 30 days after the project is complete. Financing is through our lender partner and is subject to approval.

Can a walk-in shower have no step at the entry?

Sometimes. A curbless or low-threshold shower needs the floor to slope to the drain, and whether that works depends on your floor. A linear drain, like the one we set in Miramar, is one common way to get a lower entry. Your rep checks your floor at the visit and the quote shows the entry you are getting.
